This month’s #SharetheLoveIndy campaign is all about making tutoring possible for the students we serve. Our goal is to make sure every child in our program is able to achieve academic success, even when facing difficult circumstances like homelessness.
One thing we’ve learned during this year’s Share the Love campaign is that our programs DO make a big impact, on both our students and tutors! During tutoring, we asked our students and volunteers to share why they love tutoring. Check out some of their responses below, and enjoy some adorable Valentine’s Day art created by our students!
“I love School on Wheels because I get to hang out with amazing tutors. I also love Ms. Ieva!” – Nadine, School on Wheels student
“I love School on Wheels because it helps one another in many different ways. Another reason is they actually don’t have to do this but they find it in their hearts to help others grow in life.”– Andrew, School on Wheels student
“I love School on Wheels because they care about kids and about educating them for the future. They encourage and support children to have a positive view of themselves and an enthusiasm for learning.” – Marilyn, School on Wheels tutor
“I love School on Wheels because I love to know that I am making a positive difference in the world. The kids and tutors being a smile to my face and warm my heart. Every week, I look forward to the fun and rewarding hour of tutoring. No matter what games or work I am helping with, I always love my time at School on Wheels.” – Anna, School on Wheels Coburn Place tutor
“I love School on Wheels because they give me the help I need when I can’t get help at home. That’s why I love this program.” – Arika, School on Wheels student
