Family – noun fam·i·ly \ˈfam-lē, ˈfa-mə-\
a group of people who are related to each other
Family is an important part of every person’s life. Our family members are the ones who are there for us no matter what. While all of us have family members who are related by blood, many of us also have people we consider part of our family who are related by love.
This November, we asked our students to draw pictures of their family and share with us why they’re thankful for their family members.* The results were absolutely adorable, and we wanted to share them with you in honor of Thanksgiving this week.
I am thankful for my family and friends because they are kind. Aliana, grade 1

I am thankful for my family because they motivate me to do better in everything I do. They teach me everything I need to succeed. They make nice foods and dishes and they also throw fun parties. One time my mom and sisters helped me was when I recently had a very important decision to make.I had to decide if I wanted to switch to band or stay with orchestra. I have been playing the violin for going on 6 years and I wanted to try something new. They helped me decide and made it to where I can do both band and orchestra and still have fun. In conclusion, my family is very helpful and good supporters. So, that’s why I am thankful for my family. Juliet, grade 9
I am thankful to my family because they love me and I love them. I love to play football with my brothers. I love to play dress up with my sisters. I love to give my mom and dad hugs. The best part of all is I love my family so much. Shakyla, grade 3
