We’re moving! We’ll be located at 2955 North Meridian Street, Suite 250, Indianapolis, 46208 starting June 1. Reach us at kids@indysow.org and 317.202.9100.

Every night at tutoring, we begin the hour with a short writing prompt to focus our students’ minds on learning and get their creative juices flowing. Each Program Coordinator asks a different question every night that we have tutoring, so we end up with thousands of writing prompts from hundreds of different students per year! The majority of our students’ responses we never see, but sometimes, our Program Coordinators and tutors will share an especially cute or funny one with us.

This week, we’ve compiled a few of our all-time favorite writing prompts by students (many with original art work)! We hope you enjoy them, and they make you laugh as much as they did us!

“I would have a cartoon about dinosaurs. I like to play with dinosaurs.” – Paula, grade 2
