Every February, the School on Wheels community unites to #SharetheLoveIndy to share stories of our amazing kids and to raise vital funding to provide 1:1 tutoring for students experiencing homelessness. We ate, drank, shopped, and even worked out in the name of education. We couldn’t have done it without each amazing and dedicated volunteer who advocated, fundraised, and attended events all month long. Thank you to the giving community partners who hosted give back nights and events to support our kids. Due to your collective generosity and support, we not only blew through our original goal of $25,000, but more than doubled our goal by raising $54,370!
Your incredible support will provide 54 children with educational services for an entire year! These services include: 1-1 tutoring, school uniforms, supplies, backpacks, books, specialized curriculum, and educational advocacy through our parent programs.
We couldn’t be more grateful for your support. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your passion and dedication, from the bottom of our (and our kiddos’) hearts.

The Zionsville Century Club very generously offered to match $10,000 in donations from Share the Love to help us exceed our goal. Daryl Knecht surprised us at the office with a $13,000 donation from 130 members of the Zionsville Century Club! The club supports nonprofits quarterly through 100 or more men pledging to each contribute $100 on a quarterly basis to local charities, with a goal to keep it local and to have an impact that they can see in the community. We are grateful for one of our volunteers, who shared a tutoring story with her father, one of the club members, which resulting in School on Wheels being chosen as the February charity!
We LOVE a good reason to shop for a cause, and luckily Kendra Scott at The Fashion Mall had us covered! Kendra Scott joined us at our Kickoff Event for some early Spring shopping, and hosted us at the store on February 7th, donating 20% of proceeds at both events back to School on Wheels. Not only do we all look great with our new jewelry, we feel great about our purchases, too!
Our fabulous friends at Sun King supported us by donating $1 from each growler fill every Thursday, and hosting two “$1 back Pint Nights” that also included School on Wheels fun! We made Valentines for our kiddos, experienced virtual reality of one of our partner sites thanks to Half Full Nelson, and celebrated the month together. Thanks for hosting so much fun, Sun King!
What has clothes for men, women, children, house décor and loves to give back? Dawson & Daisy Boutique, and on February 24th, they helped us provide tutoring for more students by donating 20% of all shopping at both locations and online back to School on Wheels!
The wonderful folks at William Roam helped us #SharetheLoveIndy by donating $1 from EVERY order from the week before Valentine’s Day back to us so that we could tutor more kiddos! We’re so grateful for their support (and their awesome products).
20 of our friends showed up to sweat for School on Wheels at SHRED415. Special thanks to Dana who led the class and helped us get our exercise in and helped provide tutoring in the process. We had so much fun!
Our neighbors at the Glendale Town Center Jet’s Pizza partnered up with us to donate 20% of all carryout orders in the month of February that mentioned School on Wheels back to #SharetheLoveIndy. Our office staff alone probably provided a month of tutoring just from Jet’s – we love a good excuse to eat pizza!!
No matter where in the city you live, City Barbeque on February 17th was the perfect excuse to eat out for lunch or dinner. At all Indianapolis locations, City Barbeque donated 25% of proceeds back to #SharetheLoveIndy if you showed our flier. A great meal for a great reason, what could be better?
We guac’d on at Chipotle on February 19th, when 50% of each order was donated back to School on Wheels if you mentioned School on Wheels. There really isn’t much better than a burrito that’s making a difference.
Thanks, again, for ALL you do for our kids and for making this the best #SharetheLoveIndy yet!
