Community Engagement & Support

A workplace that embraces the community attracts and retains the best and brightest employees. By partnering with School on Wheels and advocating for those children who need your support, you can increase employee satisfaction and create a brighter future for some of Indianapolis’ most vulnerable children.

#PackAPack: Monetary donations are critical to sustaining School on Wheels’ impact in the community, but #PackAPack is an excellent opportunity for new organizations to get involved with in-kind support. It’s also an important tool for current corporate partners to engage their employees further. Our corporate #PackAPack Challenge partners help secure critical school supplies each summer. The 2021 #PackAPack Challenge winner was Team Agastya, with nearly $1,500 in uniforms and financial contributions collected! Fund A Future: It’s estimated that COVID-related out-of-school time has exacerbated existing achievement gaps for unhoused students by 15%-20%. Financial support is essential to helping us get unhoused students back on track this school year. $1,000 covers the cost of tutoring and wraparound academic support for a School on Wheels student for one semester. Companies who support School on Wheels and the Fund A Future campaign with a gift of $1,000 will have their logo included in a full-page School on Wheels ad in the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Giving Guide, published in November each year. Education Celebration: Each year, corporations and individuals help School on Wheels raise over $250,000 during our annual event that celebrates the academic accomplishments of children impacted by homelessness while honoring others dedicated to transforming lives through education. The 2022 Education Celebration on April 28, 2022, will celebrate School on Wheels’ 20th year. Sponsor opportunities range from $2,500 to a presenting sponsorship of $25,000.
