Become a Tutor

Our volunteer tutors provide focused support to school-aged children experiencing homelessness in schools and shelters throughout Indianapolis. Volunteer opportunities are Monday through Thursday each week with time slots throughout the day and during the evening. We are now accepting volunteer tutor applications for the Fall 2021 semester! At this time we feel confident that many of our in-person sessions will resume as normal and other placements may be virtual. Please understand that there will likely be a delay to training and tutor placements as School on Wheels and our partners navigate changing schedules and COVID precautions.

Office Projects

We often need help during the week, stuffing backpacks, organizing supplies, help with mailings, and preparing tutoring resources or other special projects. If you would like to volunteer as an individual or with a group, please fill out our volunteer form. Due to COVID, group opportunities are limited and we are unable to accommodate large groups in the office.
